Phil Ivey Wins Eighth WSOP Bracelet
Phil Ivey continues to cement his legacy as one of the greatest poker
players of all time. He won the US$3,000 buy-in HORSE event to earn
his eighth career WSOP bracelet, along with US$329,840. He extended his
lead atop the all-time tournament money list to over US$13 million. He
defeated a field of 478 players, including a final table that featured
John Juanda, Chad Brown and last year's WSOP Player of the Year, Jeffrey
Lisandro.
Ivey now sits fifth on the all-time bracelet winner list, behind
Johnny Moss (9), Doyle Brunson (10), Johnny Chan (10) and Phil Hellmuth
(11). At the young age of thirty-four, the only major title to elude
Ivey is a WSOP Main Event Championship. Last year, he made the November
Nine and finished in seventh place.
