England's World Cup Odds remain unchanged
The odds on England winning the upcoming football World Cup in South
Africa have not changed despite the side’s defeat earlier this week of
fellow tournament qualifiers Mexico.
An under-strength England side defeated ‘El Tri’ at Wembley Stadium on
Monday night by three goals to one after controlling much of the game
despite the absence of Chelsea players Ashley Cole, John Terry, Frank
Lampard and Joe Cole. However, Coral.co.uk and ExtraBet.com still show
‘The Three Lions’ at odds of 11/2 to win the 2010 World Cup followed by
WBX.com with 28/5.
England is next set to face fellow World Cup participant Japan in Graz,
Austria, on Sunday evening before heading off to South Africa in
preparation for its opening game against the United States Of America on
June 12. Ladbrokes.com, 888Sport.com, WilliamHill.com, bet365.com,
ToteSport.com, SkyBet.com, BetFred.com, BoyleSports.com, BlueSq.com,
SportingBet.com, StanJames.com and PaddyPower.com are offering England
at odds of 6/1 to win this year’s World Cup followed by BetDaq.com and
Betfair.com with 63/10 and Bwin.com, VictorChandler.com and Bodog.com
showing 13/2.
Despite being ranked as the 17th best national soccer side in the world,
the odds on Mexico lifting the FIFA World Cup Trophy on July 11 have
lengthened to 66/1 with BetFred.com, ExtraBet.com and ToteSport.com.
Even longer, WilliamHill.com, Coral.co.uk, Bodog.com, 888Sport.com,
StanJames.com, PaddyPower.com, VictorChandler.com, BlueSq.com,
SportingBet.com, BoyleSports.com, SkyBet.com and bet365.com are offering
80/1 while WBX.com shows 96/1.
Mexico has qualified for every World Cup since 1994 and has appeared in
13 tournaments in total but is still only listed at odds of 100/1 with
Bwin.com and Ladbrokes.com to win it all in South Africa while
Betfair.com and BetDaq.com are currently going with 105/1.
The favourite for World Cup glory come July remains Spain with
Bodog.com, Ladbrokes.com, BlueSq.com and 888Sport.com offering bettors
odds of 7/2 followed by bet365.com, SkyBet.com, ToteSport.com, WBX.com,
BetFred.com, BoyleSports.com, VictorChandler.com, SportingBet.com,
StanJames.com, PaddyPower.com, ExtraBet.com, Coral.co.uk and
WilliamHill.com showing 4/1.
Another contender for the World Cup title is five-time champion Brazil
with punters currently able to get odds of 9/2 from SportingBet.com,
StanJames.com, Ladbrokes.com, Bodog.com, WilliamHill.com, Coral.co.uk,
VictorChandler.com, SkyBet.com and BoyleSports.com while ExtraBet.com,
ToteSport.com, BlueSq.com, bet365.com, BetFred.com, PaddyPower.com,
Bwin.com and 888Sport.com are going with 5/1.
